Transport Security Amendment (Serious Crime) Bill 2019 [Provisions]

On 28 November 2019 the Senate referred the provisions of the Transport Security Amendment (Serious Crime) Bill 2019 to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 21 February 2020. On 10 February 2020 the Senate extended the committee’s reporting date to 25 March 2020.

The deadline for submission to the inquiry is 10 January 2020.

About this inquiry

The bill would amend the Aviation Transport Security Act 2004 and the Maritime Transport and Offshore Facilities Security Act 2003 to legislate a series of measures to prevent the use of aviation and maritime transport or offshore facilities in connection with serious crime.
