Crimes Amendment (Strengthening the Criminal Justice Response to Sexual Violence) Bill 2024

The Crimes Amendment (Strengthening the Criminal Justice Response to Sexual Violence) Bill 2024 would amend the Crimes Act 1914 to strengthen the protections afforded to victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and vulnerable persons in Commonwealth criminal proceedings.

The bill would implement several recommendations of the 2017 Final Report of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The deadline for submissions 22 March 2024.

The reporting date is 24 April 2024.
