On 1 December 2004, the Senate referred the above Bill to the Senate
Legal and Constitutional Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by
7 December 2004. On 7 December 2004, the Senate
agreed to extend the reporting date for this inquiry to 8 December 2004.
The Bill seeks to amends the
Disability Discrimination Act 1992
(the Act) in order to ensure that the provisions of the draft Disability
Standards for Education (the draft Education Standards) are fully
supported by the Act..
