Civil Aviation Amendment Bill 2003

On 26 March 2003, the Senate referred the above Bill to the Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by the 16 May 2003. (This date has now been extended until the 24 June 2003).

The purpose of the Bill is to reinforce the Civil Aviation Safety Authority's (CASA) role as Australia's aviation safety regulator by introducing a package of reforms relating to CASA's corporate governance and enforcement procedures.

The closing date for the lodgement of submissions is Monday, 28 April 2003.

Submissions become Committee documents and are only made public after a decision by the Committee. Unauthorised release of submissions is not covered by parliamentary privilege.
