This inquiry will consider the provisions of the Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment Bill 2014.

The Bill was introduced in the Senate on 29 October 2014, and follows amendments made to the Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Foreign Fighters) Bill 2014 which the Committee recently reported on.

On 29 October 2014, the Attorney-General wrote to Mr Dan Tehan MP referring the Bill to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security for inquiry and report. In this letter the Attorney-General noted that the Bill contains three measures to amend the Criminal Code Act 1995 and the Intelligence Services Act 2001.

In addition, the Bill contains a measure to implement Recommendation 8 of the Committee's Advisory Report on the Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Foreign Fighters) Bill 2014 which was tabled on 17 October 2014.
