Any bill inquiries that were not completed have lapsed and submissions cannot be received. Statutory reviews are an ongoing responsibility of the Committee and will continue when a new Committee is appointed.

About this committee

The Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security is constituted under section 28 of the Intelligence Services Act 2001.
The Committee conducts inquiries into matters referred to it by the Senate, the House of Representatives or certain Ministers of the Commonwealth Government.
The Committee also has certain review and oversight functions under section 29 of the Intelligence Services Act 2001 and other legislation.
