Review of the National Security Legislation Amendment (Espionage and Foreign Interference) Bill 2017

On 8 December 2017 Prime Minister, the Hon Malcolm Turnbull MP, asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the National Security Legislation Amendment (Espionage and Foreign Interference) Bill 2017.

Information about the Bill, which was tabled in the Parliament on 7 December 2017, can be found at this link.

On 5 March 2018, the Attorney-General, the Hon Christian Porter MP, proposed Government amendments which have been accepted by the Committee as submissions to the inquiry and can be found on the Submissions page (see Submission 40 and Supplementary Submission 40.1).

The Committee tabled its report on 7 June 2018.
