Greenwashing

On 31 July 2025, the Senate agreed that the inquiry into greenwashing be re-adopted in the 48th Parliament for inquiry and report by 25 June 2026.

All correspondence and evidence previously received for this inquiry as part of the 47th Parliament has been made available to the committee. This means that submissions already provided to the committee do not need to be re-submitted. The committee has the power to refer to the evidence received during the 47th Parliament.

The closing date for submissions is 12 September 2025.

The committee welcomes submissions on any matters relevant to the terms of reference. The committee is also seeking views on the role of corporate sponsorship and advertising by fossil fuel companies and their commercial arrangements with media organisations.
