The Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Bill 2022 was introduced into the House of Representatives by the Hon Karen Andrews MP, Minister for Home Affairs, on 10 February 2022 and was referred to the Committee by the Minister on the same day for inquiry and report by 25 March 2022.
The Bill proposes amendments to the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018, building on the amendments made by the Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure) Act 2021 that resulted from the recommendations of the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security’s Advisory report on the Security Legislation Amendment (Critical Infrastructure) Bill 2020 and Statutory Review of the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018.
