Information about the inquiry

On 21 June 2007, the Senate referred the provisions of the Superannuation Amendment Bill 2007 to the Finance and Public Administration Committee for inquiry and report by 27 July 2007.

The Bill seeks to amend the law relating to civilian and military superannuation schemes and in particular align certain superannuation entitlements for commonwealth employees with those of the broader community.

The Committee invites written submissions which should be sent to:

The closing date for submissions is Friday 29 June 2007.

Persons lodging submissions should note that this inquiry is into the bill only, and to be considered relevant to the inquiry, submissions must address the provisions of the bill.

The Committee requests that where possible, submissions should also be provided by email to fpa.sen@aph.gov.au, preferably as MS Word or RTF format documents. Once the Committee accepts your submission, it becomes a confidential committee document and is protected by Parliamentary Privilege.
