Inquiry into the Trade Practices Legislation Amendment Bill 2008

On 26 June 2008, the Senate referred the Trade Practices Legislation Amendment Bill 2008 to the Senate Standing Committee on Economics for report by 27 August 2008.
This bill enhances the prohibitions against anticompetitive unilateral conduct such as predatory pricing. It also requires the Australian Competition and Consumer Competition to have a deputy chair with knowledge of small business, repeals the thresholds for unconscionable conduct cases and clarifies the Commission's information gathering powers.
