Australian Securities and Investments Commission Amendment (Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee Abolition) Bill 2014

On 12 February 2015, the Senate referred the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Amendment (Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee Abolition) Bill 2014 to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 16 March 2015.

About this inquiry

The bill proposes to amend the Australian Securities and Investment Commission Act 2001 (the Act) to abolish the Corporations and Markets Advisory Committee (CAMAC) by repealing Part 9 of the Act. The bill also proposes to provide transition and savings arrangements reflecting the cessation of CAMAC, including transferring CAMAC's records to the Treasury.
