Education in Remote and Complex Environments

On Wednesday 27 November 2019, the Committee adopted an inquiry referred by the Minister for Education, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, to inquire into and report on the education of students in remote and complex environments.

As at 19 March 2020, the work of the Committee and the secretariat continues, however arrangements for public hearings are currently suspended. It is anticipated that hearings will continue at a future time.

For those that have made submissions, please be advised that all submissions to parliamentary inquiries become Committee documents and are made public only after a decision by the Committee. You will be advised when this occurs.

About this inquiry

This inquiry will look at the role of culture, family and community in delivering better education outcomes for students living in remote Australia and in complex environments. The Committee’s work will take into consideration the initiatives in place to meet the unique learning needs of students in these areas and to address barriers that they may face when accessing education.
