The House Standing Committee on Communications and the Arts will conduct an inquiry into: Factors contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Australian film and television industry.
On 4 September 2017 the House referred to the Committee the following matter for inquiry and report:
Whether the former member for Dunkley, Mr Bruce Billson, by accepting an appointment as, and acting as, a paid director of the Franchise Council of Australia whilst still a member of the House gives rise either to any issues that may constitute a contempt of the House or to any issues concerning the appropriate conduct of a member having regard to their responsibilities to their constituents and to the public interest.
On Thursday, 9 February 2017 the Minister for Agriculture, The Hon Barnaby Joyce MP, requested the Committee inquire into and report on water use efficiency in Australian agriculture.
The inquiry will look at ways to ensure students are supported from school to work by measuring gain in schools and how this contributes to supporting students for post-school education and training. The inquiry will also look at opportunities to better inform students of appropriate post-school education and training using employment outcomes as a measure of course suitability.
The Standing Committee on Health, Aged Care and Sport will inquire into and report on the use and marketing of electronic cigarettes (E-cigarettes) and personal vaporisers in Australia.
The Committee will inquire into and report on the educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Refer to the terms of reference for further information.
This inquiry will examine the Australian Government's role in the development of cities.
