Inquiry into provisions of the Workplace Relations Amendment (Termination
of Employment) Bill 2002

the Senate Employment, Workplace Relations and Education Legislation Committee on 11
December 2002. The report is due to be tabled on 18 March 2003.
This bill proposes to amend the Workplace Relations Act 1996 to provide for
workers employed by corporations to come within the scope of the Federal unfair dismissal
legislation jurisdiction, and that workers within the scope of the Federal system will be
governed by it rather than by any State unfair dismissal law. This will cover about 85 per
cent of all employees .

bill to lodge written submissions, including full postal and contact details by 14
