Review of Australia’s four major banks

In accordance with a reference from the Treasurer on 17 October 2025, the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics will hold annual public hearings with Australia’s four major banks, to examine how the major banks are balancing the interests of customers and stakeholders, developing responses to current and emerging risks, and maintaining high standards of conduct and governance.

Previous inquiries into Australia’s four major banks were conducted in the 47th Parliament, 46th Parliament and 45th Parliament.
