Select Committee on Information Integrity on Climate Change and Energy

On 30 July 2025, the Senate appointed a select committee, to be known as the Select Committee on Information Integrity on Climate Change and Energy, to inquire into the prevalence and impacts of misinformation and disinformation which relates to climate change and energy.

The committee is due to present its final report by Wednesday, 4 February 2026.

Submissions closed on Friday, 12 September 2025.

The committee has received a large volume of submissions and correspondence and is processing material as quickly as possible. The secretariat will be in touch with submitters once their submission has been processed.

Please note that committees are required to follow requirements set by the Senate when processing submissions. These processes are intended to:
- Ensure that that committees do not publish personal details of submitters;
- Ensure submitters are protected by parliamentary privilege;
- Provide individuals and organisations adversely reflected upon in submissions with the right of reply; and
- Ensure that committees only accept material within the inquiry’s terms of reference.

Further information about the submission process, including what happens after a submission is submitted, is available here.
