On 30 July 2025, the Senate appointed a select committee, to be known as the Select Committee on Information Integrity on Climate Change and Energy, to inquire into the prevalence and impacts of misinformation and disinformation which relates to climate change and energy.

The committee is due to present its final report by Wednesday, 4 February 2026. On Monday, 3 November 2025 the Senate granted the committee an extension of time to present the final report to Tuesday, 24 March 2026.

The tabling of the final report on 24 March 2026 concludes the work of the committee.
