On 24 November 2022, the Senate referred an inquiry into the provisions of the Treasury Laws Amendment (2022 Measures No. 4) Bill 2022 for inquiry and report by 25 January 2023.

The committee is still conducting its inquiry and requests an extension of time to report until 3 March 2023 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
