On 24 June 2021, the Senate referred the Financial Sector Reform (Hayne Royal Commission Response—Better Advice) Bill 2021 [Provisions] to the Senate Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 28 July 2021.

The committee requests an extension of time to report until 30 July 2021 to allow it to consider the evidence received and to conclude its deliberations.
