APPOINTMENT OF THE STOCKBROKERS
The government recently announced the list of seven Australian and international
stockbrokers to oversee the float in the one-third sale of Telstra later
this year. The list included J B Were, CS First Boston and ABN Amro-Rothschild
as the global coordinators who will prepare the company for the float
        and design its structure.
Consideration is also been given to using the instalment sale method
successfully employed in last year's Commonwealth Bank float to entice
small investors to purchase shares. [1]

      RECOMMENDATION
The Committee recommends the partial sale of Telstra by
the issue of ordinary voting shares.
