Interim Report
Pursuant to standing order 38(7), I present an interim report of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee's inquiry into the Australian Law Reform Commission.
The Senate referred this inquiry to the committee on 23 November 2010, for report by 31 March 2011.
The committee received 24 submissions for the inquiry; and public hearings were held in Canberra on 11 February and 3 March 2011.
The committee requires additional time to ensure that the issues raised during the inquiry are thoroughly considered and appropriately addressed, and intends to present its final report by 8 April 2011.
