Call for submissions

On 14 February 2008 the Senate established a Select Committee on Housing Affordability to inquire into and report on the barriers to home ownership in Australia, including:

The Committee is to report to the Senate by 16 June 2008.

The Committee welcomes submissions. The deadline for lodging submissions is 31 March 2008.

The Committee intends to hold public hearings of the inquiry in each state and territory. Organisations or individuals who would like to speak to the Committee at a hearing are asked to contact the secretariat to express their interest as soon as possible and at the latest by 17 March.

Submissions are confidential until the Committee releases them. The Committee will normally make submissions public unless there is a request for confidentiality. If you would like a submission or part of it to be kept confidential please say so clearly in the submission. If you have concerns about confidentiality you are encouraged to discuss this with the committee secretary before lodging the submission.
