On 30 January 2023, the Australian Government released a new National Cultural Policy, Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place. This policy is a five-year plan that seeks to revive Australia's arts, entertainment and cultural sectors.
On 31 July 2025, the Senate agreed that the National Cultural Policy inquiry be re-adopted in the 48th Parliament for inquiry and report by 25 June 2026.
All correspondence and evidence previously received for this inquiry has been made available to the new committee. This means that submissions already provided to the committee about this inquiry do not need to be re-submitted. The committee has the power to refer to the evidence received during the 47th Parliament.
The closing date for submissions is 3 October 2025.
The committee welcomes submissions on any matters relevant to the terms of reference, but is particularly interested in your views on:
(a) potential tax reform and ways to boost the productivity of Australia’s arts and creative sectors; and
(b) any opportunities, risks and challenges for Australia’s arts and creative sectors associated with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
