Amendment Bill 2006
Information about the inquiry
The
provisions of the Australian Research Council Amendment Bill 2006 have
been referred to the Senate Employment, Workplace Relations and Education
Legislation Committee for examination and report by 10 May. The bill
reflects recommendations to the government in the Uhrig Review of
governance arrangements for statutory bodies. It provides for the
abolition of the ARC Board, and the assumption of most of its duties by
the Chief Executive Officer, advised by designated committees. The bill
also updates annual funding caps, and makes other administrative
provisions.
Submissions from interested parties are invited and should be emailed to the Secretary by Friday
21 April 2006.
