Information about the Inquiry

On 10 February 2011 the Senate referred the Human Services Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 for inquiry and report.

The Human Services Legislation Amendment Bill 2010 amends the Medicare Australia Act 1973 and Commonwealth Services Delivery Agency Act 1997 in order to integrate the service delivery of agencies administered under the Human Services Portfolio. The amendments include changes to amalgamate Medicare Australia and Centrelink into the Department of Human Services inlcuding amendments to the  secrecy provisions.

Submissions due: 1 March 2011.

Report date: 22 March 2011.

The Committee is seeking written submissions from interested individuals and organisations preferably in electronic form submitted online or sent by email to community.affairs.sen@aph.gov.au as an attached Adobe PDF or MS Word format document.
