Candidate Qualification Checklist

On 27 October 2021 the Special Minister of State, The Hon Ben Morton MP asked the Committee to inquire into and report on the Candidate Qualification Checklist. The terms of reference for the inquiry may be found here and the Exposure Draft of the Candidate Qualification Checklist relating to eligibility under section 44 of the Australian Constitution is available here.

Anyone can make a submission to the inquiry which addresses some or all of the terms of reference, by using the My Parliament system or email to em@aph.gov.au. Submissions do not have a set format, but should be prepared solely for the inquiry and should not be published prior to being accepted by the Committee. Submissions are requested by Monday, 8 November 2021.
