Review of the AEC's annual report 2016-17

On 18 October 2017, the Committee resolved to inquire into and report upon the Australian Electoral Commission’s Annual Report 2016-17. A copy of the annual report is available here. http://annualreport.aec.gov.au/2017/contents/files/aec-annual-report-2016-17.pdf



The Committee has adopted the following focus areas for the inquiry:

1. AEC information technology systems.
2. AEC temporary workforce challenges.
3. Standards for Australian internet voting, electoral cyber security and physical security and voting points.
4. Addressing overly prescriptive parts of the Electoral Act and resolving other technical issues.
