On 15 October 2015, the Senate referred an inquiry into political donations to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters.
The terms of reference for this inquiry relate (in part) to the Committee’s recommendations made in its 2011 Report on the funding of political parties and election campaigns.
There has been no government response to this report and its recommendations.
Accordingly, the Committee has resolved to write to the Special Minister of State to seek a Government Response on the 2011 report.
This inquiry lapsed when the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters ceased to exist at the dissolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives on Monday 9 May 2016. Submissions cannot be received.
