On 26 June, the Senate referred the following matter to the Legal and Constitutional Affairs References Committee for inquiry and report:

1. the work undertaken by the Australian Federal Police's Oil for Food Taskforce;
2. the level of resourcing that was provided and used by the taskforce; and 
3. any other related matters.  

The reporting date was 4 September 2014. On 18 March 2015, the Senate granted an extension of time for reporting until 24 March 2015.
