On 4 December 2017 the Senate referred the following matter to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee for inquiry and report by 29 November 2018:

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Submissions to this inquiry close on 29 March 2018.

On 26 November 2018 the Senate agreed to extend the reporting date to the last sitting day in February 2019.
