Sally Morgan
Based in Wadjuk Noongar Country, Sally Morgan (Palyku, eastern Pilbara, Western Australia) is an author, artist, and dramatist. She has written books for adults but specialises in writing picture books and short chapter books for children. Her first book My Place, which told the story of her family’s journey as part of the Stolen Generations, won the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Humanitarian Award. In 2016 her verse novel, Sister Heart, which affirms the power of family, friendship and kinship, won the 2016 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for children’s writing. She is retired but continues to write for children.
