Lin Onus AM
Lin Onus AM (Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung peoples) was a self-taught artist, combining traditional and contemporary imagery. His paintings were often of photorealist images of central Arnhem Land wetlands, where trees and leaves are reflected in the water of the billabong. Onus was a founding member of the Aboriginal Arts Management Association, known as the National Indigenous Arts Advocacy Association today. His father, Bill Onus, and uncle Eric were leaders in the Aboriginal rights movements of the 1950s and 1960s.
