Selection of Bills Committee

Report No. 5 of 2020

The Senate agreed to the recommendations of the report on Friday, 12 June 2020

  1. The committee met in private session on Thursday, 11 June 2020 at 7.15 pm.
  2. The committee recommends that—
    1. the provisions of the Payment Times Reporting Bill 2020 and the Payment Times Reporting (Consequential Amendments) Bill 2020 be referred immediately to the Education and Employment Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 July 2020 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral);
    2. the provisions of the Primary Industries (Customs) Charges Amendment (Dairy Cattle Export Charge) Bill 2020 be referred immediately to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 July 2020 (see appendix 2 for a statement of reasons for referral); and
    3. the provisions of the Product Stewardship (Oil) Amendment Bill 2020 and the Excise Tariff Amendment Bill 2020 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 30 July 2020 (see appendix 3 for a statement of reasons for referral).
  3. The committee recommends that the following bills not be referred to committees:
