Selection of Bills Committee

The Senate agreed to the recommendations of the report, with amendments, on Thursday, 18 February 2021

  1. The committee met in private session on Wednesday, 17 February 2021 at 7.35 pm.
  2. The committee recommends that—
    1. the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Amendment (Regional Forest Agreements) Bill 2020 be referred immediately to the Environment and Communications Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 11 May 2021 (see appendix 1 for a statement of reasons for referral)
    2. the provisions of the Treasury Laws Amendment (Your Future, Your Super) Bill 2021 be referred immediately to the Economics Legislation Committee for inquiry and report by 22 April 2021.
  3. The committee deferred consideration of the following bills to its next meeting:

  4. The committee considered the following bill but was unable to reach agreement:
    • Treasury Laws Amendment (2021 Measures No. 1) Bill 2021.
