On 3 September 2025 the Minister for Trade and Tourism, Senator the Hon Don Farrell, referred an inquiry into creating sustainable economic growth in rural and regional Australia to the Joint Standing Committee on Trade and Investment Growth. The Committee adopted the inquiry on 3 September 2025.

The Committee would be grateful to receive written submissions addressing the terms of reference by Friday, 17 October 2025. Further information about making a submission to a parliamentary committee is available here.
