Committee view

2.2        The committee thanks the Minister for confirming that the determination engages the right to freedom of expression in article 19(2) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The committee makes no further comment on this instrument.

Purpose of the instrument

2.3        This determination sets 10 December 2013 as the date by which each holder of a commercial television broadcasting licence in a remote licence area is to cease transmitting the commercial television broadcasting service concerned in analog mode.

2.4        The Minister's response can be found in Appendix 1.
