Inquiry into whether Australia should enact legislation comparable to the United States Magnitsky Act 2012

On Tuesday, 3 December 2019, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Women, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, asked the Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade - Human Rights Sub-committee to inquire into and report on whether Australia should enact legislation comparable to the United States Magnitsky Act 2012.

The Committee invites submissions addressing any or all of the terms of reference for the inquiry;
Submissions are requested by Friday, 31 January 2020.
