Non-ongoing employment register
The department has an employment register that is used to offer non-ongoing employment from time to time. Applications are open to people interested in being placed on the employment register for a variety of roles.
Non-ongoing vacancies may range from a week to several months (to a maximum of 12 months).
The employment register is reviewed on a six-monthly basis. Unsuccessful applicants will be removed from the register after each review and will need to reapply to be considered for future roles.
Applications can be submitted through our online recruitment system.
The Department of the House of Representatives offers three-month placements to graduates who have been accepted into existing Australian Government department and agency graduate programs. The program is designed to give graduates exposure to the parliamentary departments’ work in supporting the Parliament. The skills and knowledge graduates obtain through the program may help in building a foundation for career progression and professional development.
Applications for the 2022 Graduate Program are now closed.
