Inquiry into the value of skilled migration to Australia

The Assistant Minister for Immigration and Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Hon Matt Thistlethwaite MP, has asked the Joint Standing Committee on Migration to inquire into matters relating to Australia’s skilled migration program. The committee adopted the inquiry on 29 October 2025.

The committee invites interested individuals and groups to make a submission addressing one or more of the Terms of Reference for the inquiry. For more information on how to make a submission to a parliamentary committee, please see Making a Submission to a Committee Inquiry.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, 5 January 2026.
