The inquiry will examine any matters contained in and associated with Auditor-General Report No. 26 2025–26: Defence’s Procurement of Infantry Fighting Vehicles (Land 400 Phase 3), with particular reference to the effectiveness of Defence’s tender process and contracting arrangements to support the achievement for value for money outcomes.

On 31 July 2025, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit adopted an inquiry into the Defence Major Projects Report (MPR) 2023-24, including any matters contained and associated with Auditor-General Report No. 20 of 2024–25: 2023–24 Major Projects Report.
On 5 February 2026, the Committee expanded the terms of reference to incorporate any matters contained in and associated with Auditor-General Report No. 16 of 2025-26: 2024-25 Major Projects Report.
The Committee invites submissions to the inquiry addressing the terms of reference by Friday, 6 March 2026.
- New Inquiry into the administration of the Age Pension

On 9 April 2026, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit adopted an inquiry into the administration of the Age Pension. This inquiry will examine the Department of Social Services' and Services Australia's administration of the Age Pension with reference to the effectiveness of oversight,
arrangements to engage and communicate with applicants and recipients, and any matters relating to Auditor-General Report No. 20 of 2025–26.
- Inquiry into the administration of the National Disability Insurance Scheme

On 27 November 2025, the Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit resolved to conduct an inquiry into the administration of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
The Committee will examine the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) delivery of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) with reference to the management of financial sustainability risks and claimant and provider compliance with NDIS claim requirements; and the monitoring, measurement and reporting of NDIA performance.
The Committee will also examine the regulatory performance of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission), and the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing's policy advice to the government.
