Dairy Produce Act 1986
to finalise the Dairy Industry Adjustment Program by terminating the dairy adjustment levy, winding-up the Dairy Structural Adjustment Fund and terminating the Dairy Adjustment Authority. Also makes consequential amendments to the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997

and Social Security Act 1991
to remove references to the Dairy Industry Adjustment Program; repeals the Dairy Adjustment Levy (Customs) Act 2000

which set the dairy adjustment levy rate; and includes a regulation-making power to make transitional arrangements.

to incorporate planning, facilitation and participation in the reform or privatisation of the Australian Dairy Corporation (ADC) and the Dairy Research and Development Corporation as an additional function of the ADC; and Dairy Produce Act 1986
and Farm Household Support Act 1992
to enable holders of Dairy Structural Adjustment Program scheme and Supplementary Dairy Assistance scheme entitlements to access a farm exit payment under the Farm Help Re-establishment Grant scheme.

Age Discrimination Act 2004
to remove the 'dominant reason' test; the Disability Discrimination Act 1992
, Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission Act 1986
and Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security Act 1986
to: provide an explicit and positive duty to make reasonable adjustments for people with disabilities (which responds to the 2003 High Court decision of Purvis); respond to the Full Federal Court case of Forest in relation to carers, assistants and aids; clarify the defence of unjustifiable hardship; and replace the 'proportionality test' in the definition of indirect discrimination; 24 Acts to reflect the name change of the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission to the Australian Human Rights Commission; and the Racial Discrimination Act 1975
and Sex Discrimination Act 1984
to make technical amendments.

Bills and committees
The House of Representatives Selection Committee and the Senate Selection of Bills Committee routinely consider whether bills should be referred to committees for inquiry and report. The House Committee reports its determinations to the chamber, while the Senate Committee makes recommendations which the Senate may then adopt. Bills may also be referred to committees by either chamber or by the relevant minister to House and joint committees.
