Amends 7 Acts in relation to Commonwealth civilian and Australian Defence Force superannuation schemes as a consequence of new legislative arrangements for splitting superannuation on marriage breakdown. The bill provides for a framework within each relevant superannuation scheme for dealing with an agreement made by separating parties or a Family Court order that provides for an amount of the member’s superannuation to be allocated and paid to the member’s former spouse.

to: extend eligibility for the Government co-contribution for low income earners; and ensure that persons entitled to a co-contribution cannot also claim a tax deduction for personal superannuation contributions; and Superannuation (Government Co-contribution for Low Income Earners) Act 2003
to make administrative and technical amendments in relation to: interest on unpaid co-contribution amounts; provider repayment dates and general interest charge; reports to Parliament; and payments of co-contributions into the Superannuation Holding Accounts Account.

Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992
to: increase the superannuation guarantee age of an employee at which the superannuation guarantee no longer needs to be provided from 70 to 75 years of age; and incrementally increase the superannuation guarantee charge percentage from 9 per cent to reach 12 per cent in the 2019-20 financial year.
