Summary
Amends the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 and Radiocommunications Act 1992 in relation to exemptions from HDTV obligations in solus television markets; Broadcasting Services Act 1992 in relation to: introduction of a third service in two-service television markets which overlap with a remote licence area; and delegation of power to approve variations to approved digital broadcasting implementation plans for national broadcasters; Radiocommunications Act 1992 in relation to transmission of datacasting services; and Telecommunications Act 1997 to provide for a penalty in lieu of prosecution scheme for certain offences.
