Inquiry into Beef Imports into Australia

INTERIM REPORT

Dear Mr President

The importation of beef and beef products into Australia was referred to the Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Reference Committee by the Senate on 27 February 2013, for inquiry and report by 17 June 2013. The committee tabled an interim report on the reference on that date and sought an extension of the reporting date to 5 July 2013.

The Committee has received 14 submissions, and has held a public hearing in Canberra, on Friday, 17 May 2013.

The Committee wishes to extend this reporting date to 12 July 2013. This would allow it to fully consider the evidence and to conclude its deliberations.
