Terms of Reference

The Joint Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade shall inquire into and report on Australia's efforts to advocate for worldwide abolition of the death penalty, having particular regard to:

  • engaging with international institutions and likeminded countries;
  • cooperating with non-government organisations;
  • bilateral engagements and other diplomatic activities; and
  • other appropriate means.
