The Committee is inquiring into campaigning activities at polling places. The inquiry will pay particular attention to allegations made in relation to campaigning conduct at polling places, distribution of how to vote cards and any other related matters.
The Committee is inquiring into the delivery of effective electoral education. The focus of the inquiry is to assess whether current electoral education programs are best achieving their objectives, and identify new initiatives for the delivery of electoral education.
The terms of reference for this inquiry relate (in part) to the Committee’s recommendations made in its 2011 Report on the funding of political parties and election campaigns.

The Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters is appointed under a resolution of appointment. This was passed by the House of Representatives on 21 November 2013 and the Senate on 2 December 2013.
