Inquiry into Managing fatigue in transport

The House of Representatives Standing Committee on Communications, Transport and the Arts was asked by the Hon John Anderson MP, Minister for Transport and Regional Services to inquire into, and report on managing fatigue in transport.

The inquiry generated a great deal of interest from all sectors of the transport industry and the community. Over one hundred submissions were received. The committee has undertaken a comprehensive program of public hearings, round table discussions and inspections in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra and regional NSW. The witnesses at the publice hearings included industry, union and government representatives, Australian and international experts in fatigue management and private citizens.

The Committee tabled the report on managing fatigue in transport on 9 October 2000.
