Joint Committee on the National Broadband Network
Under the Standing Orders of the House of Representatives, standing committees are appointed for the life of the Parliament. The 43rd Parliament was prorogued at 5.29pm on Monday 5 August 2013 and the House of Representatives dissolved at 5.30pm on Monday 5 August 2013 for a general election to be held on Saturday 7 September 2013.
At dissolution, all Committees in the House of Representatives and joint committees of the Senate and House of Representatives for the 43rd Parliament ceased to exist. Therefore, inquiries of the 43rd Parliament that were not completed have now lapsed; however, information about them is still available on this website.
Information on Committees for the 44th Parliament will be presented here as soon as it is available.
Further information on the effects of dissolution and prorogation on committees can be found in Chapter 18 (Parliamentary Committees) of House of Representatives Practice (6th Ed)
