Parliament House public parking
The public car park is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. You can get to the car park from Parliament Drive or Federation Mall.
Once you’ve parked, you can either walk up the stairs or use the lift to get to the public entrance.
When you drive out of the car park, you will exit on the corner of Parliament Drive and Federation Mall.
The height clearance for regular vehicles is 2.2 metres. There is also an entry with a height clearance of 4.3 metres for long or high vehicles.
Ticketing
The car park operates with a ticket system. You will receive a ticket when you enter. When you’re ready to leave please insert the ticket into a pay machine or at the exit boom gates to pay for your parking. There is no parking fee for visits under one hour, however you still need your ticket to exit. Lost ticket fees apply.
Accessible parking
Accessible parking spaces are available towards the building’s entrance near the lift. Visitors who have a disability parking permit can park in these spaces for free. When you exit, use the intercom at the boom gate to contact a staff member. Quote your disability parking permit number and they will let you out.

Payment options
There are 3 pay machines in the car park. They accept major credit cards, debit cards and cash. You can also pay by credit card and contactless payment at the exit boom gates.
Electric vehicle charging stations
There are 10 electric vehicle charging stations including 2 in accessible car park spaces. Terms and conditions apply.
To use the charging stations, download the Exploren app on your phone and create an Exploren account. The app will display the cost of the charge.
Long or high vehicles
There is a dedicated entry for long or high vehicles, such as buses and caravans with a height clearance of 4.3 metres. There are designated bus parking bays. Other long or high vehicles must park in the first row.
Motorcycles
Use the long or high vehicle entry to get to the motorcycle parking spaces. There are no parking fees when you use one of these spaces.
Taxis and rideshares
There are taxi ranks and rideshare bays in the car park.
You can also book a taxi or rideshare to pick you up on Parliament Drive. They can pick you up next to the Ministerial, Senate or House of Representatives entrances.
Bikes
There are bike racks on the left of the car park. You can only lock bikes to the designated bike racks.
Toilets
There are female, male and accessible toilets in the car park near the lift. There are also male and female toilets near the bus bays.
